Collection: Curious Currents

There is something powerful about the idea of what our homes mean to us as humans, and what it means to lose them… whether it’s because of growing older and leaving our childhood homes, whether it's caused by death or other changes in our life circumstances, or whether it's caused by the forces of nature, like the oceanfront homes collapsing into the ocean near Buxton, on the coastline of the Outer Banks.

The works in this series that include both people and structures on tall pilings are a way of exploring the theme of what home means, and how our connection to the places we love can be both resilient and vulnerable.

Curious Currents was a solo exhibition on display through January 28, 2026 at the Duck Town Hall in Duck, NC.
